Three Heartfelt Weeks with Boyle Family

For three memorable weeks, the Boyle family from Australia immersed themselves in the vibrant daily life at Peduli Anak, sharing joy, experiences, and connections with the children and staff. Angela Boyle, a mother of four, shared her reflections on this special time, describing how each moment became an unforgettable experience for their family.

A Priceless Experience for Our Family

“This is our last week at Peduli Anak, and it already feels like it’s not enough time,” Angela expressed. “Our family of six feels incredibly fortunate to have spent time with the children and staff in this wonderful place.”

The Boyle children quickly settled in, finding common ground with the children at Peduli Anak. They bonded through activities like climbing and playing on the swings, cycling, swimming, playing cards, and engaging in creative art and craft sessions. These shared moments of joy and teamwork created friendships that transcended language and culture.

Each day, the Boyle family joined the English classes, where their Aussie accents became a fun and engaging aspect of the lessons. Angela noted, “The children’s language skills have grown noticeably, and their enthusiasm to imitate our accents brought even more laughter and bonding into the classroom.”

Connections Through Shared Passions

The Boyles enjoyed taking part in sports sessions, discovering ways to connect through shared interests like running, tag, and catch. Angela and her husband shared their personal hobbies with the children and staff as well. Her husband led afternoon music sessions, and Angela taught yin yoga classes for the foster mothers twice a week in the mornings.

“We emphasized the things that unite us and our shared love for music, movement, calmness, and connection,” Angela reflected.

Learning and Growing Together

Beyond structured activities, the Boyles spent countless hours learning about the local language and culture. The children delighted in teaching them local words and customs, and they often shared meals that had been prepared together after school, creating moments of warmth and cultural exchange.

Angela was deeply moved by the children’s generosity and resilience. “It’s easy to forget that many of them come from challenging backgrounds because they have learned to support each other and rely on their foster mothers for comfort and security.”

What stood out most to the Boyle family was the dedication of the staff. “It’s so clear to us how hard the staff work to create a supportive school and family environment for the children. The children here are truly happy, with smiles and joy that flow from their hearts every day.”

Thank You, Boyle Family

We at Peduli Anak extend our deepest gratitude to the Boyle family. Their presence brought added joy to the lives of our children, and the shared experiences and favorite activities they introduced left a lasting impression on both the children and staff. We hope to see them again and share more precious moments together in the future.
