Recently, the eighth-grade students at Peduli Anak had the chance to participate in some exciting science experiments led by Henk, one of our sponsors and volunteers. These experiments were both fun and educational, sparking curiosity and interest in the world of science.

In one of the experiments, Henk used a glass, a candle, a water-filled balloon, and a tray. The first experiment involved pulling the water-filled balloon into the glass with a lit candle inside. The students watched with excitement as the balloon was drawn into the glass, demonstrating a simple yet fascinating principle of air pressure.

In the second experiment, Henk showed the students how to lift a tray using an upside-down glass with a lit candle inside. The students were amazed to see how the glass was able to lift the tray, simply by using the difference in air pressure created by the candle.

Farel, one of the eighth-grade students who participated in the experiment, shared his thoughts: “This science experiment was really fun and interesting. I never thought you could do things like that with a candle and a glass. It made me more interested in science, and I want to try more experiments.”

Through these experiments, the students not only learned about basic scientific principles but also gained hands-on experience that made them more excited and curious about studying science.
