Andi Rahman is the second of three children and was born in Sumbawa. After their parents divorced, Andi and his siblings lived with their father because their mother moved overseas for work. As a result of depression, their father was deemed incapable for taking care of the children.

The Social Department of Sumbawa rescued Andi and his younger sister Nurul, who was then five years old. After the two kids stayed at the Social Department in Mataram for two month, they were brought to Peduli Anak.
