Peduli Anak Shine at the Sunset Run
On Thursday, 3 October, Peduli Anak was invited by Lumi Hotel Gili Trawangan to take part in its well-known activity, namely Sunset Run. Organized every three months, the so-called Sunset Run is another form of racing event which assembles locals and foreigners into one hustle on this picturesque island of Gili Trawangan. Not only was this an exciting experience for the runners, but it also became an excellent opportunity for Peduli Anak children to get involved with the community at large and showcase their talents.
On the other side, Peduli Anak proudly collaborated by receiving donations from participating runners of the Sunset Run event. These donations will directly benefit the children in Peduli Anak, contributing to their education and wellness, paving the way for a brighter future.
The First Visit to Gili Trawangan
For four of our children—Yeyen, Yola, Hasan, and Ulfa—this event marked their first-ever visit to the magnificent island of Gili Trawangan. They were enchanted by the island’s natural beauty and touched by the warm welcome from all participants.
Additionally, the event served as a platform for the children to sell handmade arts and crafts made by Peduli Anak children. These creative pieces are part of a program designed to enhance the children’s creativity and practical skills. It was truly heartwarming to witness the pride they felt in showcasing their work to the attendees, who supported their efforts enthusiastically.
Cheering on the Runners with Joy
In addition to selling their craftwork, Yeyen, Yola, Hasan, and Ulfa had an amusing job as cheer supporters for the runners. The Lumi Hotel staff assigned them the task of cheering on the runners as they approached the finish line.
With colorful banners and enthusiastic cheers, the children added an element of fun and motivation to the event, lifting the spirits of the runners and the audience alike.
