At the recent Peduli Anak Taekwondo Challenge, our children and their foster mothers took an exciting event and transformed it into an entrepreneurial opportunity! While athletes from across Lombok competed in intense Taekwondo matches, some of the children who were not part of the tournament decided to bring even more energy to the event by selling delicious snacks and drinks to the crowd.

The children prepared a variety of treats, showcasing both their cooking skills and business sense. They sold rujak, a spicy Indonesian fruit salad bursting with fresh flavors, along with various flavorful fresh drinks that offered a refreshing break for everyone attending the event. There were also many kinds of fritters and traditional snacks, which quickly became favorites among the spectators.

This experience wasn’t just about selling food—it was a hands-on opportunity for the children to learn valuable business skills, from managing their sales to interacting with customers and handling money. They got a taste of what it takes to run a small business, and the sense of accomplishment they gained was just as fulfilling as any trophy.

Enjel, one of the children at Peduli Anak, shared her thoughts about the experience: “It was really fun selling snacks and drinks! I learned how to talk to customers and count the money. It felt good to be part of the event, even though I wasn’t competing. I’m excited to do it again in the future!”

This event was a proud moment for our young entrepreneurs. Not only did they contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of the Taekwondo Challenge, but they also gained skills that will help them in the future. It was a perfect blend of learning, fun, and community involvement.

At Peduli Anak, we are always looking for ways to teach our children valuable life skills while encouraging them to be active members of their community. The success of this event shows just how capable and motivated they are. We look forward to seeing more of their entrepreneurial spirit shine in the future!
